Consumption profile
The consumption profile shows the relationship between the time of the day and the water flow rate. This is relevant in connection to water boosting systems.
Control valve
A control valve is used to regulate the amount of a circulating medium to a consuming unit. This can for example, be a mixing loop, a heat exchanger, or a fan coil.
A convector is a heating surface that transfers heat mainly by convection. Convection is the process by which heat is transferred when cooler air flows over the warm surface of a solid material.
Cooling ceiling
Water-carrying cooling ceilings can be used as a supplement, if cooled-air temperature regulation systems are insufficient. The cooling effect is primarily achieved through the absorption of heat, with convection being a secondary function.
Cooling jacket
A cooling jacket enables a portion of the pumped liquid or an external liquid to be circulated around the motor stator housing. This absorbs excess heat by forced convection, ensuring efficient cooling of the pump.
Cooling surface
A cooling surface is used for cooling of outside air before injection into the building. A cooling surface can be an integrated part of an AHU or placed directly in an air injection duct.
Cooling tower
A cooling tower is used to remove excess heat from an air-conditioning system if the heat cannot be utilised for another purpose.
COP (Coefficient of performance)
Coefficient of performance (COP), is an expression of the efficiency of a heat pump. When calculating the COP for a heat pump, the heat output from the condenser (Q) is compared to the power supplied to the compressor (W).
Corrosion can occur on external and internal surfaces of pipes, tanks and radiators. In the design phase various issues have to be considered such as pipe material, insulation, medium, humidity and air purging etc.
Corrosion fatigue
Corrosion fatigue describes a situation where a metal is exposed to both mechanical fatigue and corrosion simultaneously.
