Grundfos Enhances Service Capabilities in Aurora, Ill.

In order to meet growing market demands in Illinois and throughout the United States, Grundfos opened a new Service Center at its facility in Aurora, Ill., on Nov. 8.

“Service is a must to grow our business in the areas where our segments reach professional end-user customers,” said Ed Shupert, director of Service for Grundfos North America. “Specifically in the segments of commercial buildings services, industry and water utility, a strong service capability is the ticket to sustainable business growth.”

The Service Center will provide consultative assistance to customers throughout a product’s lifecycle. This includes product selection, delivery and installation, service during the operational cycle and end-of-life replacement.

The Grundfos Service and Solutions team anticipates that strengthening service will improve product differentiation and competitive advantage in an increasingly competitive landscape. The new center will provide the team with a vehicle for staying closer to customers throughout the product lifecycle, creating stronger customer loyalty and a higher probability of replacement with Grundfos products.

“The opening of this center is just the first step toward realizing our vision of world-class service for our products,” Shupert said. “To me, the challenge of service is not with building the new Service Center. It is with building a “customer first” culture of service within our daily operation and within our manufacturing environment.”

Mike Franzen, vice president of Operations at the Aurora facility, agreed that the task to ensure the center’s success does not rest solely on the Service and Solutions team.

“Everyone will be asked to strengthen the success of this center,” Franzen said. “We must all dedicate our time to making sure that we exceed customer expectations.”

Indeed, Duncan Cooper, regional managing director of Grundfos North America, said the center would play a key role in the company’s ambition to achieve $1 billion in annual sales.
