Purpose of Job
Grundfos is seeking an IT Project & Support Specialist to join our global Production IT team. The main role of the IT Project & Support Specialist is to deliver production IT Systems to the Americas Grundfos production companies. The IT Project & Support Specialist will work to provide support in projects, implementing new solutions and making changes to existing solutions that support production business requirements. The role’s primary focus will be in configuring, delivering and supporting tasks that have already been developed and created. The IT Project & Support Specialist will report directly to the Manager, IT based in our world headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark. The IT Project & Support Specialist will operate daily out of our Brookshire, TX USA office location. Unfortunately we cannot support work authorization for this position.
•Implement “standard” Production IT Systems as Marking, Test and Measuring systems that often need tweaking and monitored. Oversee the procurement and assembling process.
•Advise and consult on production IT application functionalities and act as sparring partner towards relevant stakeholders in Grundfos production companies.
•Work within established processes, but confident enough to question their validity.
•Participate or drive projects with application capabilities and afterwards change or configure the system needed.
•Helping the production business clarify what needed from a production IT System.
•Configuring systems that addresses the agreed upon requirements, using standard software and hardware components when possible.
•Compose and maintain documentation of your work, which is compiled into a quotation for the factory.
•Drive the implementation of the Production IT Systems in the production facilities.
•Finalize the Production IT System with a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and a review of the Project.
•Participate in projects and leading small projects as needed.
Required Education & Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with deploying production IT solutions working for a manufacturing environment is required. Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering or related field of study is required.
•Proven experience working in marking systems and or with test production systems in a manufacturing environment (does not have experience working in or with industrial engineered products).
•Possess a strong technical understanding of production processes, test systems and production IT systems is required.
•Hands on experience with configuring production IT systems for manufacturing environments.
•Experience with Laser, engraver or label systems in a production environment is required.
•Must have experience with codesoft and making layouts for marking equipment.
•Working knowledge and experience with SQL.
•Proven possession of well-developed skills in error detection and root cause analysis.
•Strong communication (written and verbal) are required. English proficiency is required. Spanish fluency is desirable.
•Experience with integrating software and hardware into a complete solution for production needs.
•Travel requirements: up to 20% domestically and internationally to support needs in production facilities within the Americas Region. Travel to Denmark for team meetings and training as needed. Initial travel to Denmark will be required for selected candidate upon hire for onboarding activities. Thus, one must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
