HR Business Partner - Service Americas Region

Purpose of Job

 

The HR Business Partner is responsible for delivering HR Business partnering to the Americas Regional Service Director (RSD) and the regional service management team. The Business Partner is responsible for translating and implementing HR plans so the regional service business is able to attract, manage, develop and retain the talent it needs to achieve its current and future business objectives. The HR BP will also be responsible for executing annual HR wheel activities across Americas Service.

 

This position is based in Chicago, Illinois, and reports directly to the Global HR Business Partner for Global Service (located in Denmark, Europe). The position has a strong dotted lines to the RSD and will work with the Regional VP of HR for Americas Sales Region to ensure alignment with regional sales and HR activities.

Key Activities

 
  1. As HR Business Partner you are a member of the regional service management team. In this role you will be a close sparring partner to the RSD and and the team during the organisational change turning Global Service into a vertical organisational structure. You will focus on supporting the RSD in establishing the new governance structure in the team, identifying leadership development needs and supporting collaboration and performance of the management team.
  2. Participate in organizational design and change activities in the service business.
  3. Proactively utilize HR Analytics as foundation for business decision, ensure focus on diversity, social responsibilities, succession and talent management, evaluate the future workforce needs in Americas Service.
  4. Active member of the recently established Global Service HRBP team. Through collaboration contribute to ensure business objective of commercializing our service business on a global scale.
  5. Engage and build trust with HR BPs in the Americas sales region and the wider global HR community in order to bridge, align and ensure cross-functional collaboration. Proactively contribute to the developing our HR practices and processes.
  6. Responsible for driving one global HR process across Global Service, eg. performance management or talent development. Drive annual HR wheel activities including:
  1. Facilitate capability and people reviews
  2. drive performance, incentive and merit reviews
  3. Support managers in high quality people development and performance dialogues
  4. Coordinate and drive the annual Employee Motivation Survey (EMS). This includes determining survey structure, managing reporting (translation and language validation), presenting / facilitating results to the management team, providing individual and team feedback, and implementing actions in close cooperation with the business leaders.
  1. Provide management advice on all HR related issues
  2. Contribute to collaboration across OneHR (HR BPs, HR shared service centers and HR Centers Of Expertise) and support effective implementation of new recruitment, development, compensation, benefit, performance, organizational development, communications, and labor relations initiatives. Ensure deployment of Group initiatives in Americas Service. Collect and provide input to the development of new global approaches.
  3. Facilitate recruitment of leaders and key regional service roles (eg. area/country service managers) in coordination with the HR Service Center/Regional Recruitment Team. This includes reviewing job descriptions and profiles, search and selection criteria, recruitment interviews, candidate assessment, employment contracts and policies according to local legislation etc.
  4. Contribute to service competence development. Coordinate planning and execution of training and competence development with the Global Service Competence Development Manager. This includes close cooperation with the line managers as well as supporting development activities for the department/individual employees.
  5. Ensure HR initiatives are implemented within budget and are compliant with legal perspectives and Grundfos code of conduct.
  6. Custodian of the Grundfos values, ensuring that the Grundfos values are reflected / integrated in all management decisions and HR Plans in the area.

 

Critical Knowledge and Experience

 

Bachelors' degree in Human Resource Management or related field. A master's degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management is a plus.

 

A minimum of five years' experience in a human resource management.

 

  1. Fluency in English is required – Spanish will be an advantage.
  2. Experience in working in a service and/or customer-centric, matrix organized, multinational B2B company is a clear advantage
  3. Proven experience advising and developing talent in a team or department.
  4. Strong knowledge of HR best practices and processes.
  5. Strong knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
  6. Demonstrated ability to mediate, persuade, and influence business leaders and managers at all levels.
  7. Experience developing and executing HR initiatives.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  9. Strong presentation skills.
  10. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  11. Strong analytical skills.
  12. Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally (approximately 25%); maintain a valid passport.
  13. Experience with SAP Success Factors is preferred.
