Grundfos Invites Kansas City Community to June 16 event at Kauffman Stadium

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One in every eight people – 884 million worldwide – lacks access to safe water. Because of this, 1.8 million children die each year from diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation.

As a global leader in advanced pump solutions and a trendsetter in water technology, Grundfos presents an opportunity to change that. In partnership with Water Missions International, Grundfos invites the Kansas City Community to participate in a Walk for Water that will raise awareness of the global water crisis. The event will take place on at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 16 at The Royals’ Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

The Walk for Water is a non-competitive, educational event that puts participants in the shoes of those who walk almost four miles per day to provide their families with what is often contaminated water. Halfway through our 3.5-mile walk, participants will fill buckets with water, simulating the true burden of life in a developing nation.

Visit Grundfoskcwalk.kintera.org/2012 to register and receive a voucher to watch the Kansas City Royals play the Tampa Bay Rays on June 25. Individual adult registration is $25, youth registration is $15 and children 10 and under are free. Onsite registration will also be available at 8 a.m. on June 16.

The goal of the event is to raise funds for safe water systems in villages without access to clean water. Participants can help achieve this goal by registering to walk. The help of the community is vital to providing sustainable access to safe water in developing countries. The 2012 Kansas City Walk for Water is sponsored by Grundfos, The Kansas City Royals, and Pump & Power. Morgan Hunter Corporate Search is a strategic partner.
