AURORA, Ill. —Featuring competitive new elements such as a durable ductile iron frame and an improved high-pressure pipe flanged seal, the newly optimized SEWER CHEWER® grinder from Grundfos is key to efficient and reliable solids conditioning in wastewater and sludge-handling systems.

As part of Grundfos’ Ready-to-Ship program, SEWER CHEWER grinders are available for rapid delivery, providing a quick solution for raw sewage, wastewater, sludge and processing waste. The grinder has a number of key new features.

Completely submersible up to 90 pounds per square inch (psi), SEWER CHEWER’s durable ductile iron frame boasts rugged motor support and flexible coupling for effective and reliable power transmission. Its patented cutter design provides maximum solids reduction thanks to a unique tip that enhances grabbing action and a side-cutting feature that provides additional cutting and shearing.

The grinder also features an improved high-pressure pipe flanged seal and dimensional change for easy competitor replacement. High-efficiency side rails are contoured to allow maximum flow while directing solids inward to the cutting zone. This design provides superior head-loss characteristics. In addition, a state-of-the-art digital NEMA 4X FRP controller and PLC keypad operator interface provide unmatched control, operation and monitoring features.
