New system combines proven reliability of Grundfos pumps with intelligent, integrated variable speed motor control in a compact design

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — To provide the greatest range of solutions for engineered packaged pumping systems, Grundfos today announced the sales release of the Hydro Multi-B, an all variable speed controlled pump system utilizing two to three Grundfos CME pumps.

The Hydro Multi-B booster pump system has two key features: an easy-to-use CU323 controller for efficient, optimized pump control in constant-pressure applications and simplicity of installation and operation, the key design concept for the system.

“The Hydro Multi-B is the latest addition to our constant pressure product portfolio and provides a perfect alternative to larger booster systems when size, efficiency, and ease of use become a determining factor in product selection,” said Zeki Oral, director of Program Management for Grundfos North America.

“The Multi-B fits into our strategy to constantly provide an advanced booster system at a competitive price.”

The system also boasts the proven reliability of energy-optimized Grundfos CMEs, horizontal multistage close-coupled pumps designed for compactness and flexibility. The pumps feature the Grundfos integrated variable frequency drive MLE motor, which significantly reduces power consumption and better matches demand in high-performance commercial building applications.

Brian James, senior product specialist for Grundfos North America, said, “The Hydro Multi-B gives our customers what they want, an economical pump system that can adapt to changes in demand without compromising high reliability and energy efficiency. The Hydro Multi-B is an ideal choice for many retrofit and single pump replacement applications due to the compact nature of the pump system.”

Applications for the Multi-B include domestic water-pressure boosting, such as large homes, multistory buildings, apartment complexes, small hotels, rural areas requiring pressure boosting and anywhere redundant pumping is required.
