Grundfos Indianapolis Raises $9,000 for Water2Life

“The decision was simple,” said Todd Walterman, environmental, health and safety coordinator. “We needed a mechanism to participate in the Water 2 Life project and this was such an easy fit. It was just the right thing to do.”

The company auctioned 62 central processing units, 113 monitors and 74 laptops to its employees, generating $8,756. Meanwhile, the company also asked the employees to collect scrap metal from their homes. Paired with the scraps from old office furniture and equipment, they collected 7,140 pounds and garnered $392 for their recycling efforts.

Walterman said the donation reflected Grundfos’ company values of partnership, trustworthiness and focus on people.

“Water2Life reaches across the Atlantic Ocean and creates a partnership with the Kenyan people,” he said. “With the Grundfos employees’ contributions to Water2Life, we all really do have the power to influence a culture in Kenya. Water2Life is a perfect example of our corporate social responsibility that we preach.”
